Body boundaries and unwanted touching

Your body belongs to you. No one should touch you in ways that feel wrong, scary, or confusing — and no one should ask you to keep touching a secret.

Everyday examples

  • Someone touches you in a way that feels uncomfortable or wrong.
  • Someone asks you to keep a touch a secret.
  • Someone makes you look at or do things that feel wrong.

One next step

Tell a trusted adult right away, or contact a help line. It is not your fault and you will not be in trouble for telling.

Remember

  • Abuse is never a child's fault.
  • You do not have to collect proof before asking for help.
  • You are not responsible for stopping adult violence.
  • You do not have to physically intervene or protect everyone yourself.
  • You can care about someone and still need protection from them.

In immediate danger, call 911 when it is safe to do so. Choosing any button on this site does not dispatch help or file a report.
