Remembering Luke

Lighting a Path for Others

Luke Andrew Rogers

Luke Andrew Rogers dreamed of becoming a YouTuber. He enjoyed drawing, writing short stories, and making short films—finding ways to turn his imagination into something he could share.

His creativity, playful spirit, and humor are part of how he is remembered. Before this memorial, there was a boy with ideas, interests, and a future still unfolding. That is the Luke this space honors.

The next section briefly mentions family violence and suicide, without graphic details.

What happened to Luke

Luke was killed by his father, who then died by suicide. His life was taken through violence within his own family.

Those facts explain the loss, but they cannot tell the whole story of who Luke was. He was a child with things he wanted to make, people he mattered to, and a life he should have had time to live.

Why Luke’s Light exists

Luke’s Light was created in his memory to help children and teens find support when home feels unsafe—and to help concerned adults understand how to reach qualified help.

For a child, asking for help can begin with uncertainty: Does this count? Will someone believe me? What happens if I tell? What if I have already tried?

This resource makes room for those questions. It offers words to begin a conversation, information about what reaching out may involve, and connections to trained people who can help someone consider their next step.

Children should not have to investigate what is happening to them, find perfect words, or carry the responsibility for keeping their family safe. They deserve adults who listen, take their concerns seriously, and seek appropriate support.

No memorial can give Luke back the future he deserved. What this one can do is remember him with love and make the path to help a little clearer for someone else.

Every child deserves to be heard, taken seriously, and safe.
