If the first person did not help, that does not mean what happened is okay.
- Talk with a trained child-abuse counselor.
- Tell another adult whose job includes helping children — like a school counselor, nurse, or teacher.
- Get emergency help if someone may be seriously hurt now.
Some professionals must report concerns. They may need to contact others. If you are worried someone will punish you for asking, tell the professional that too.
